PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL VALUES OF KANIGORO MONUMENT THROUGH SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES TO THE COMMUNITY IN KANIGORO HAMLET, AMBARKETAWANG, GAMPING, SLEMAN

The preservation of the historical values of Kanigoro Monument through social service activities in Kanigoro hamlet, Gamping, Sleman, aims to increase public awareness, especially the younger generation, of the importance of historical heritage. This social service activity uses participatory methods by involving the local community in mutual cooperation activities to maintain the monument and education on historical values. The results of this activity show that this activity succeeded in increasing community participation and strengthening the sense of belonging to the monument. This activity is expected to be able to strengthen the importance of a community-based approach to historical preservation to the community and the younger generation. It can be concluded that this activity has successfully achieved its objectives in preserving historical values and increasing public awareness, especially the younger generation, of the importance of local cultural heritage. Further collaboration with educational institutions and local organizations is recommended to broaden the impact of the program.
