Abstract

The principle of state sovereignty is a fundamental concept in international law, recognizing the exclusive right of a state to regulate its internal affairs without external interference. However, the development of globalization and interdependence among countries has posed significant challenges to the implementation of this principle. This study aims to analyze the evolution and application of the principle of state sovereignty in contemporary international law. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with international law experts and diplomats, as well as analysis of international legal documents. The results indicate that pressures from globalization, international intervention, and the dominance of developed countries in international organizations often reduce the ability of developing countries to fully exercise their sovereignty. This research proposes enhancing the role of regional organizations and reforming decision-making mechanisms at the international level to create a more just and inclusive international legal system. This study provides important insights into how state sovereignty can be protected and adapted to the current dynamics of international law
